Here is what should be on your Maternity Hospital Bag Checklist

  1. Toiletries

Toiletries should be on your hospital bag checklist. Make sure that you have a bathroom bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, comb, lotion, and wipes. These will go a long way to keep you comfortable during your hospital stay.

  1. Nursing bra

You will also need a comfortable nursing bra because of the constant breastfeeding. If you prefer to go braless, that’s okay too.

  1. Nursing pads

If you don’t want the hustle of constantly cleaning up due to leaks, we suggest you pack enough nursing pads. They are ideal for use in the hospital and also when you get home.

  1. Maternity pads

The hospital may provide maternity pads but it’s better to be prepared and pack a few extra of these. It is normal to bleed after childbirth and these are a must-have. You should also pack several comfortable undies to go with the maternity pads.

  1. Slippers

You will need something that will keep your feet comfortable as you pace around the hospital during labor. Slippers are very handy especially when you have swollen feet.

Diapers for the baby are a must-have in your hospital checklist.

  1. Outfit for the mom and the baby

You will need to pack an outfit for both you and the baby to wear when you are both leaving the hospital. You will more comfortable in a maternity outfit and you can pack a onesie for your baby.

  1. Phone & charger

You will probably need your phone fully charged during labor to keep you distracted by listening to some soothing music or reading something as you wait. Additionally, you will also want to contact family and friends during your stay so having a phone and charger will ensure your phone is on the whole time.

You can pack more items that you feel are important for a comfortable hospital stay like lip balm, blankets, socks, or a book. Whatever you think will essential for you should be included.
